Professor Sanjay Sharma BSc (Hons), FRCP (UK), MD (Lon), FESC

Education
Professor Sharma has an active interest in medical education and is a Fellow of the Royal College Of Physicians. He has 16 years experience in teaching for the MRCP exam. He has published several education books in medicine and cardiology including the Self Assessment Colour Review of Cardiology and Rapid Review of Clinical Medicine for the MRCP part 2. Professor Sharma has an excellent reputation as a lecturer and lectures in medicine at national level for Medibyte Intensive Courses and at international level for the Royal College of Physicians (2006 Bangkok, 2007 Kerela).
Cardiology
Professor Sharma qualified in the UK in 1989 and took up the post of Consultant Cardiologist and General Physician at University Hospital Lewisham in 2001. He was subsequently appointed as Director of Heart Muscle Diseases at Kings College Hospital London in 2007 and in 2009 was promoted to Professor of Clinical Cardiology at St George’s University Hospital. He is Medical Director for the Virgin London Marathon, Cardiologist for CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young), English Institute of Sport, British Rugby League and the Lawn Tennis Association.
Professor Sharma’s interests include cardiovascular adaptation in athletes, sudden cardiac death in the young and heart muscle diseases for which he has an international reputation and has published numerous original articles in highly rated peer reviewed journals. He is an expert committee member of the National Service Framework chapter entitled Sudden Death and Arrhythmias, and is the cardiology representative on the RCP Sports and Exercise Medicine Committee. He is regularly called upon to appear on news programmes to discuss sudden cardiac death.

Dr Narbeh Melikian; BSc (Hons), MD, MRCP (UK)
Clinical Lecturer in Cardiology and Interventional Cardiologist
King’s College London School of Medicine and King’s College Hospital London
Dr Melikian is a Clinical Lecturer in Cardiology at King’s College London School Of Medicine. He qualified in medicine from Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals Medical School, University of London, in 1996. He trained in general medicine and cardiology at Hammersmith, Royal Brompton and King’s College Hospitals before being appointed to his current academic post in 2007. In addition Dr Melikian has undertaken postgraduate training in Cape Town South Africa and Belgium.
Dr Melikian has a major interest in medical education and regularly lectures in both general medicine and cardiology. He is an experienced lecturer in all aspects of general medicine and in particular has over ten years experience of lecturing for the Part II Written as well as clinical MRCP (PACES) examinations. In addition, he also regularly teaches on a number of scientific degree courses.

Seema Sharma BDS (Lond.) LDSRCS (Eng)
Director of Operations
Seema oversees all operational and marketing aspects for the Medibyte.com portal. She explores avenues that would strengthen the site, and co-ordinates the Medibyte team including suppliers, advertisers, partnerships & alliances. Seema manages a successful multi-disciplinary dental centre in London and is fully conversant with the changing NHS environment, Department of Health guidance and career development in healthcare fields. She won a 1995 "Options" Businesswomen award, in 1997 she was featured in the book "Women of Substance - a profile of Asian Women in the UK", and was listed in the "Top 50 most influential people in dentistry" in 2006 and again in 2007. She welcomes liaison with doctors and healthcare personnel who wish to contribute to the career development section of this website.
In January 2010 Seema was the 'Secret Slumdog Millionaire' on the one-off special by Channel 4 filmed in Mumbai. Seema and Sanjay are the Directors of The Sharma Foundation, a UK registered charity supporting fund-raising efforts for charities targeting under-privileged children in India.
